The playground

For this lineart, I felt like an architect. I constructed these fun buildings that didn't have structural integrity. For the building with little circles on top, I was inspired by this Muji store and playground built in Japan. After sketching that building, I began to think of the surrounding buildings and objects as a playground set.

I’m noticing some elements in the lineart that resemble motifs I had in mine like liquid drips, wood-grain ripples, and irregular polka dots, and it’s been interesting seeing how they’re applied in these drawings VS my own. I tried to use a limited color palette for this one too, but I definitely am noticing my own preference towards the green-blue, pink, and orange-colored pencils when I work… I think that’s why they became the primary color palette for this one.
